Albania is known for its lively and modern capital. Cafés, bars, and open spaces are always buzzing with energy, reflecting a youthful and lively atmosphere. One thing that you notice as soon as you arrive in Tirana, are the vibrant buildings, dynamic street art and creative murals. Tirana's buildings have been turned into a colourful canvas that welcomes artists from all over the world to use their brushes to create their own distinctive style.

Artistic expression was severely prohibited under the communist rule, and a large portion of the metropolitan landscape was made out of grey concrete structures. Following the collapse of communism, there was a desire to reshape the city's identity and give it a more lively look. Street art and murals became popular ways for artists to promote freedom of expression, encourage creativity, and reclaim public space. Transformation of Tirana symbolises a new era of openness and cultural revival. Now the vibrant streets and murals have become a key feature of the city.
