Root Canal

When does root canal pain go away?

Mild tenderness or sensitivity in the days following a root canal is normal and usually resolves within 3 to 7 days. The discomfort comes from the surrounding gum tissue and the temporary filling, not from the nerve itself, which has been removed. Pain that worsens or lasts beyond a week may signal an issue that needs review.

- Expect mild soreness that improves day by day.
- Protect the tooth by avoiding hard or sticky foods until it is fully restored.
- Contact your clinic if pain becomes worse after the first few days.
