Root Canal

Why does a root canal hurt?

A root canal should not usually hurt during treatment because the tooth is numbed, but pressure or soreness can still happen afterward. Pain can also come from inflammation in the tissues around the tooth or from a bite that needs adjustment.

- Mild soreness after treatment can be expected.
- Ask for a bite check if chewing feels uncomfortable.
- Return for review if pain increases or swelling appears.
