Root Canal

Why would a root canal fail?

A root canal can fail due to new decay, a crack in the tooth, a missed canal, or a breakdown of the seal over time. Delaying the final crown also significantly increases the risk of fracture and reinfection.

- Placing a crown as soon as possible after the root canal is the best protection against failure.
- Maintain excellent oral hygiene to prevent new decay on the treated tooth.
- If you notice new pain, swelling, or a pimple on the gum, have it evaluated promptly.
