Ksamil
Located in the south of Albania, Ksamil is a charming coastal village with splendid beaches and waters. It is situated several kilometres south of Saranda, within Butrint National Park that has been listed as one of UNESCO's world heritages. The turquoise waters, sandy beaches and surroundings are among its many attractions to tourists who need a peaceful beach vacation.
The best part about Ksamil are these numerous small islands located before it that you can either reach by swimming or taking boats to them. The many small islands make it possible for one to sunbathe and explore more clandestine spots thereby adding attractiveness to the place. Around these islands there are shallow, clear water ideal for snorkelling where all colours of underwater life can be seen.
Ksamil is also adjacent to the ancient archeological site of Butrint which dates back to the Greek and Roman period. Among other things, visitors here can have a look at what remains from an old theatre, basilica or a Venetian tower. Combining unspoiled beaches, crystal-clear sea waters as well as historical importance, this is where Ksamil offers both relaxation and cultural discovery which makes it an absolute must in Albania.
