Shkodër

One of the oldest and most prominent cities in Albania, Shkodër is a dynamic cultural centre located in northwestern Albania. Historically known as Scodra, it has been inhabited since ancient times. Being an essential centre in the Illyrian kingdom, it turned into an important city under Roman rule and then under Byzantine rule.
