How many arches in dentures?

A full set of dentures consists of **two arches**: the maxillary arch (upper) and the mandibular arch (lower). You can receive just one arch if you still have healthy natural teeth on the opposite jaw, or both if you are missing all your teeth.

- Upper arch: Covers the palate and stays in place via suction.
- Lower arch: U-shaped to make room for the tongue; usually more prone to movement.
- Each arch is custom-made to fit the unique shape of your jaw in that area.
