Root Canal

How long after root canal can I drink coffee?

You can drink coffee as soon as the local anesthesia wears off—usually 2–4 hours after the procedure. However, it’s best to have it lukewarm rather than very hot for the first day to avoid irritating the area. Avoid using a straw, as suction can disturb the temporary filling.

- Wait until numbness is completely gone before drinking anything hot.
- Use a cup, not a straw, for at least 24–48 hours.
- If you have a temporary crown or filling, avoid very hot coffee until the permanent restoration is placed.
