How to reduce cheek swelling after root canal?

Mild swelling after a root canal is not common but can occur if there was infection before treatment. To reduce it, apply a cold pack to the outside of your cheek for 15‑minute intervals during the first 24 hours. Sleeping with your head slightly elevated can also help.

- Use a cold pack (wrapped in a cloth) for 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off, for the first day.
- Sleep with an extra pillow to keep your head elevated.
- Contact your clinic if swelling persists beyond a few days or is accompanied by fever.
