Root Canal

How to tell if a root canal failed?

Signs of a failed root canal include persistent pain or pressure, swelling of the gum, a recurring pimple on the gum (fistula), a bad taste, or pain when biting that doesn’t improve. Sometimes the tooth may feel loose.

- Pain that worsens or does not improve after the first week should be evaluated.
- Swelling, fever, or a draining pimple on the gum are clear warning signs.
- Keep your clinic’s contact information handy; if you are already home, ask about virtual consultation options.
