Root Canal

When to take antibiotics after root canal?

Antibiotics are not routinely prescribed after a root canal. They are only used if there is a pre‑existing infection that is spreading or if you have a medical condition that requires antibiotic coverage (such as a heart valve issue or compromised immune system).

- Antibiotics are only needed if there was active infection before or during the procedure.
- Always complete the full course as prescribed, even if you feel better.
- Do not take antibiotics without a prescription—they do not cure a root canal infection on their own.
