Root Canal

Why do I have to take antibiotics after root canal?

Antibiotics are not routinely prescribed after a root canal. They are only given if there was a significant infection before treatment that spread beyond the tooth, or if you have a medical condition that requires antibiotic coverage (such as a compromised immune system or certain heart conditions).

- Antibiotics are only prescribed when there is an active spreading infection or a medical need.
- Complete the full course as directed.
- The root canal is the definitive treatment; antibiotics are supportive.
